About

The Globe Opinion is a user-generated opinion website.

Anyone can post an opinion on this website. The articles with the most recommendations automatically appear on main pages.

The Globe Opinion is an independent website based in Montreal, Canada.

Why The Globe Opinion?

Contrary to news websites, The Globe Opinion's content is all opinion articles. This unique content structure allows The Globe Opinion to voice people’s views from different perspectives, around the world.

In addition, The Globe Opinion’s articles are not dictated by the editorial board; anyone can publish opinions here, whether registered or not.

How does this website work?

At the end of each opinion article, there is a Recommend link in Your Turn widget. The articles receiving the ten most recommendations are automatically listed in main pages.

To express your position on an article, you can also vote with Approval Rating widget, which is on the left of Your Turn widget.

Do I have to register?

You don’t have to register to access our content or post an opinion article.

However, registered members can edit their own articles after being published. Additionally, registered members can recommend and comment an article; this is designed to make the recommendation and comment systems transparent and not abused.

What part of personal information is public?

For registered numbers, your full name, username, and city are made public. Your email and password are strictly private.

Once you comment or recommend an editorial, your name will appear on Comments page or Who Recommended This Editorial page (this function will be implemented in future). Again, the goal is to reduce web abuse and increase the credibility of our recommendation system.

To use this website, you must agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
